SDS Projects Shortlisted for People’s Choice Award

Services Design Solution are delighted two of its local projects have been shortlisted for the People’s Choice Award in the 2021 ICE South West Civil Engineering Awards.
ICE South West aim to promote the work of civil engineers in the region by recognising and celebrating the fantastic projects achieved locally. It is a great privilege for our engineers’ hard work to be showcased and marked through a public choice.
Fleet Helicopter Support Unit HMNB Dockyard, Bull Point, Plymouth
The FHSU provides a new facility for the Royal Navy’s helicopter operations, enabling the maintenance of effective flight operations near Devonport Naval Base. The project achieved an excellent rating under the Defence Related Environmental Assessment Methodology and pulled £6m of capital expenditure into the area.
The NHS Nightingale hospital was built to provide care for patients suffering from coronavirus symptoms during the first stages of the pandemic. Due to the urgent nature of the project, the facility was delivered in 57 days and had an immediate impact on the local community.
