Plymouth City Council Abercrombie Awards 2017

15th Nov, 2017

SDS have contributed to winning projects in a number of categories at the Plymouth City Council Abercrombie Awards 2017, including the Abercrombie Award itself which recognises the best overall scheme in Plymouth.

Named after the architect responsible for the plan to rebuild Plymouth after the Blitz, it was three buildings in particular announced as winners of their categories which SDS were involved with.

Best New Housing Project was awarded to the Riverview Care Scheme, a high quality redevelopment of community facilities for people who need extra support to live independently. The already multi award-winning Genesis Building won Best Commercial Project and Best New Building.
But it was the Nelson Project, a development of 24 affordable homes for ex-service personnel which won, not only the Small Development category, but the overall prize of the Abercrombie Award – demonstrating design excellence and innovation in contributing to the city of Plymouth.
