Shaun joins assessor panel for Plymouth University student project

7th Jun, 2016

Plymouth University 2nd year undergraduate students in the Environmental Building discipline were asked to undertake a technology-focused project that involved devising a scheme for Palace Court, located in Plymouth City Centre for the use of Plymouth College of Art.

SDS Director, Shaun Hoppins, alongside other local construction industry representatives, formed a team of assessors to judge the presentation and exhibitions of the proposed solutions. The assessors watched a 20 minute presentation by each student group and discussed with them their ideas in developing a RIBA Stage 4 scheme for the redevelopment of the Palace Court building.

The project is aimed at giving the students the opportunity to develop their creative, team-work and critical thinking skills, while applying the theoretical and technical knowledge gained so far in their first and second years on the course.

SDS extend their congratulations to all the students on their excellent presentations and impressive solutions to the project brief. We wish them good luck for their final year and hope to see them making their mark on our industry in the future.
