Project Description

The 5,500m², £12m iconic building, completed in 2014, built on the site of the former Palm Court Hotel

The development comprises of four restaurants, thirteen holiday apartments, twelve luxury apartments and two penthouses

Significant improvements were made to the wider setting of the development and is already contributing to the regeneration and revitalisation of the Torquay seafront

The project won the best UK Mixed Use Development at the International Property Awards in 2014.

Project Involvement

Full and detailed design of the complete mechanical and electrical building engineering services

Client engagement through client group meetings were carried out to identify standards of finish and desired outcomes

Detailed coordination of services through reinforced concrete structure

SBEM calculations and EPC certification to prove Part L Building Regulations compliance

Engagement with Torbay Council Planning for approval of planning submissions

Infrastructure review and site diversions to accommodate the works, including capacity calculations for planned works.

Worked as part of a collaborative design and construction team to deliver the project proposals within project constraints

Autodesk Revit MEP fully coordinated Building Information Model to a level of development consistent with level 2

Assistance in selection of Building Services contractor, undertook tender analysis of tender returns and make recommendations for best value proposal to undertake the works.
