A £2.1m new build and refurbishment studio school project at Odd Down, Bath. The building was completed in September 2014
Main contractor Kier built the school to design by Aedas Architects, SDS and Mott McDonald
The school has been designed to mirror real work places and specialise in vocational training in creative media, journalism, broadcasting, business and IT
The Bath Studio Trust in partnership with the Education Funding Agency and The Department of Education developed the project in collaboration with local schools and employers
Work included a main hall and specialist media and design classrooms for 14-19 year olds
Developed mechanical & electrical performance specifications
Work encompassed designs for graphics suite, innovation suite, wet science, science break-out, and new modular buildings
New low energy extension to existing special school with lab facilities and open learning for mixed curriculum working on live site and delivered under the Scape framework
Provided guidance to the collaborative design team on options for delivering the building energy strategy for compliance with Building Regulations
