The 3900m2 building, over two floors, was renovated by Skanska under a design and build contract with Bristol City Council under the Bristol Schools LEP framework
The project was for the change of use from a senior school to a dual teaching establishment, serving the needs of 2-form entry primary school and delivering teaching for special needs (BHES).
Our commission was for the design of new M&E services to comply with current legislations of Bristol City Council and the Bristol Hospital Education Service (BHES)
The heating type preferred was gas fired condensing boilers feeding radiators (LST) and fan convectors
Naturally ventilated with mechanical ventilation in certain areas. Cooling was provided to the communications room only
Conventional modular lighting was designed with daylight regulating.
The project achieved a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating
Renewable technology was used with the roof ‘U’ value increased by insulation
