Mount Haven Hotel in Marazion, was a fully upgraded existing hotel in west Cornwall, to provide a boutique experience on behalf of St Aubyn Estates
The refurbishment included fully bedroom renovation with en-suite bathrooms, new treatment rooms, and overhaul of the restaurant and Terrace Bar, maximising the views out to sea, and to with St Michael’s Mount
The works included the removal of existing single storey extensions, relocating, enlarging and reconfiguring the kitchen facilities, renewal and upgrade of mechanical and electrical
services, a new primary external plant space external
The project required a careful ‘hands-on’ approach and intensive collaboration throughout the design and construction process including contractor, consultant team and suppliers, together with the client organisation, hotel manager, head chef and marketing agency.
Detailed design of building mechanical and electrical engineering services including full production of detailed design information in Autodesk Revit
Careful liaison with the interior designer in the selection of decorative and ambient lighting selection to the front of house areas
Developed external lighting proposals to suit the exterior landscaping design, whilst considering the lighting impact
Detailed surveys to identify existing distribution space to in order to inform the design proposals.
Worked closely with the interior designer in the selection of the final products to deliver a high-quality specification and installation throughout
Early identification of the spatial challenges posed with the proposed location enabled a collaborative approach to successfully resolution in a timely manner without affecting the programme, and avoided ongoing abortive work
Provision of additional support during the project by regular site visits, communication and providing the Project Manager with regular updates.
