Southend Victoria Maintenance Depot

Project Description

Works included detailed design to GRIP stage 5 for the electrical infrastructure, fire alarm, small power and lighting and space heating of a new modular warehouse building, and the external lighting of footpaths, roadways, canopies and emergency escape routes to facilitate the safe movement of sanding carts and personnel

Regular design team meetings involved many disciplines including architectural, structural, civils, earthing specialists, and the appointed contractors

Many site constraints made the design challenging including restricted spatial allowance with existing roadways and close proximity to live lines

SDS provided technical MEP service solutions on time and to a very high standard

Project Involvement

Detailed lighting design calculations including handrail lighting, bollard lighting, column, wall, and canopy mounted luminaires to provide a bespoke and compliant design

Cable calculations, and specification of protective devices and distribution equipment

Delivered GRIP stages 3-5 detailed design drawings, LV schematics, schedules and specification

Completion of Form A & B

Appointed CRE and regular attendance to design team meeting/IDC’s

Coodination with other disciplines including architectural, structural, civils, earthing
