The development provides robust, attractive, secure and environmentally responsible living accommodation offering affordable rent levels whilst contributing to the student experience
Buildings range from 3 to 7 storeys including flats, town houses, café, storage for bikes and sports equipment, as well as seating areas and reception lounge
Provide strategic advice in relation to the building form, fabric and orientation
Obtain utilities mapping information to assess services diversions to accommodate the building footprint, load assessment and arrangement of incoming utility supplies
Verify that the building mechanical and electrical services designs satisfied and included for all the client and end user requirements and that the design complied with all current legislations, standards and Building Control requirements
Develop the mechanical and electrical performance specification and concept design drawings
Active participants in design team meetings and in the sustainability, accessibility, value and risk workshops
Assisted in establishing the brief, and communicate the agreed solutions in a clear and coherent manner within a detailed set of Stage 1 and 2 documents for tender purposes
Throughout the project we were in dialogue with the client to understand their business drivers and site requirements
Act as client technical advisors, robustly challenging contractor submissions for technical compliance, good practice and best value in order to deliver a scheme to meet client aspirationsts
