£10m new build, engineering and science college located in Newton Abbot, South Devon with contractor BAM

The building is 5,500m2, 3-storey teaching block with 5 science classrooms and associated preparations rooms, 3 engineering workshops including CNC, 7 design studios, 11 general teaching rooms and 3 learning resource centres

The facility has a 350m2 sports arena, full catering kitchen and dining facility, lecture room, staff, meeting rooms and offices

Heating was provided using natural gas, condensing boilers, radiators with under floor heating and radiant panels

A mix of natural, mechanical and specialist ventilation

Air conditioning was provided to ICT areas LED lighting was provided in the challenge arena, entrance atrium, WC’s and circulation space

The building achieved BREEAM Very Good
