Project Description

Detailed design of the mechanical and electrical engineering services for the £5m, 3-storey, 1,700m² office building.

The facilities included open plan office space, reception space, social area and kitchen, meeting rooms, training and interview rooms, group rooms, cellular offices, server room and plant space.

Project Involvement

Obtain utilities mapping information to assess necessary services diversions to accommodate the building footprint, load assessment and arrangement of incoming utility supplies.

Undertook thermal and daylight modelling to provide strategic advice in relation to the building form, fabric and orientation.

Incorporation of renewable energy sources, including biomass boiler and solar thermal systems.

Ultra-low carbon development.

Detailed design of the engineering services installation, IT provision, BMS, security and CCTV

Design of external lighting to car park provision and to satisfy planning conditions.

Designed to achieve BREEAM Very Good.

The full scheme was focused on providing a low energy scheme with a resulting in a reduction in a 53% reduction in carbon footprint beyond the requirements of part L Building Regulations.

Worked collaboratively as a part of an integrated design team providing our low carbon and building environmental expertise in order to deliver a sustainable building and realise a very good BREEAM rating demonstrating environmentally friendly options for both the design and on-going operation of the building.
