The Park, Plymouth Crematorium
Brand new facility inspired by nature within Drake Memorial Park providing a calm and comforting space for the people of Plymouth and surrounding areas.
SDS provided full mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) design services for The Park, Plymouth’s flagship new-build crematorium, commissioned by Plymouth City Council.
Set within a 17-acre landscaped site in the Saltram district, the bereavement centre is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring green technologies, living walls, and green burial spaces within wildflower meadows. Its tranquil, landscape-inspired design incorporates ponds, hedge banks, and non-native trees.
The centre offers two flexible ceremony spaces, a crematory with three cremators (with capacity for a fourth), waiting areas, a dual-purpose café and wake venue, and offices for Drake Memorial Park—creating an inclusive, environmentally conscious space for remembrance.
