Penzance Creative Cluster
The Penzance Creative Cluster, known as Pixel, is a three-story creative hub providing over 1,500m² of studio units and tenancies for artists and businesses.
SDS provided full mechanical and electrical design services for Pixel, a sustainable, low-carbon creative hub in Penzance. The three-storey, 1,500m² building offers coworking spaces, a gallery, and shared artist studios on the ground floor, with private studios, meeting rooms, and tenant facilities above.
SDS developed detailed M&E designs to RIBA Stage 4iii, alongside a bespoke façade lighting design and lighting impact assessment to enhance the building’s visual character. The team also carried out low- and zero-carbon assessments to meet strict sustainability goals and completed Part L and Part O compliance reports to ensure energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
The result is a BREEAM Excellent-rated development that combines sustainability, functionality, and creativity — providing a modern, comfortable workspace that supports Cornwall’s thriving creative community.
