9 Dock – HMNB Devonport
A coordinated lighting and infrastructure upgrade to segregate vehicles and pedestrians across the dockyard to enhance safety and efficiency.
SDS provided design and technical support for the 9 Dock Vehicle and Pedestrian Segregation project at HMNB Devonport, enhancing safety, efficiency, and operational clarity across approximately 20,000 m² of external works. Commissioned by Babcock and delivered with Cavendish Nuclear Ltd, the scheme formed part of wider modernisation efforts to strengthen dockyard infrastructure. Working to RIBA Stage 4 – Technical Design, SDS developed a coordinated external lighting strategy optimised for the dock’s complex operational environment, ensuring efficiency, durability, and compliance with stringent defence standards while allowing flexibility for future upgrades.
