LOW CARBON RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
Residential
Caerphilly

Resident development at Caerphilly as part of Caerphilly Borough County Council’s Programme Development Plan for 2020/21 to address local housing needs and improve community infrastructure.

The site for this new residential development is located in Caerphilly, where a former comprehensive school once stood. After the school buildings were cleared, the area was earmarked for redevelopment to address local housing needs and improve the community infrastructure.

Caerphilly Borough County Council outlined a comprehensive plan for the site, which included the construction of 50 new homes. These homes were strategically divided into two main categories to cater to different housing needs being rental homes and shared ownership scheme.

The Welsh Government contributed £4 million in grant funding. This significant investment underscores the government’s commitment to supporting local housing initiatives and addressing housing shortages. Supported by substantial government funding and driven by a clear plan to increase affordable housing, the project benefits the community in multiple ways, from economic growth to improved living conditions. The initiative reflects a broader commitment to sustainable and inclusive community development.
