Intercity Place

Major refurbishment works of Intercity Place, involving the relocation of offices, research space, specialist teaching and simulated nursing.

The University’s aspirations were to achieve a low-carbon, highly sustainable building with SKA Gold classification. SDS researched and presented sustainable solutions for building services to achieve this for the University, working closely with the client and key energy stakeholders, including local planning consultees. A future 5G district heating network connection has been designed into the scheme. Additionally, various solutions for the integration of PV were presented whilst being cognisant of the train station context, including glare, access and maintenance.
