M&E Design consultancy for accommodation, office and welfare facilities, sidings, shed extension, car park & access areas

Bletchley Rail Depot was upgraded in preparation for the arrival of a new fleet of trains from Network Rail. To accommodate the new 5-car Class 730, enhancements throughout the station were required. SDS provided M&E design consultancy and building physics services for the project on behalf of Parker Technical Services, covering accommodation, office and welfare facilities, sidings, shed extension, car park, and access areas.
Involvement
- Full M&E design consultancy for accommodation, office and welfare facilities, electrified and non-electrified sidings, main shed extension, car park and access areas
- We provided a review of existing Grip Stage 4 design proposal and shared our feedback
- We delivered Grip stages 5 to 7, including coordinated detailed generic and detailed specific design works
Benefits delivered
- We performed the role of the Contractors Responsible Engineer including submission of IDC and IDR forms for Network Rail project compliance
- Our model was built in REVIT using BIM collaborate with everything, including externals, having been modelled in 3D – a first for a project of this kind
- We ensured compliance with Part L
- We provided BRUKL and Thermal Modelling alongside completion of the predicted and as built EPC rating
