The project required lighting facilities, including the design of external walkways and the emergency escape route to the assembly point.

SDS were appointed by Parker Technical Services to undertake external lighting calculations, from concept to detailed design, for the fatality wash area, bogie store, service yard, and the replacement of the 25m lighting masts.
An external bogie store at Norwich Crown Point Depot needed to be designed, procured, and installed. It was to be used as a storage facility for bogies, wheel sets, and couplers with limited combustibility.
The project required lighting facilities, including the design of external walkways and the emergency escape route to the assembly point.
Involvement
- Greater Anglia introduced a new fleet of trains into service consisting of two different manufacturers in a variety of classes
- Day and night-time site surveys including a baseline survey to record illuminance measurements to enhance the existing lighting where required.
- Delivered GRIP stages 3-5 as part of a combined Form 001/002/003 submission, including option development with the design team and Network Rail approvals, development of the single option and completion of the detailed design information
- Followed the project through with consistent review processes (IDCs) which ensured a thorough, immaculate delivery of our services in addition to appointment as the contractor’s responsible engineer (CRE).
