The Deaf Academy

An award-winning, landmark redevelopment of an educational campus, delivering a state-of-the-art facility tailored to the unique needs of deaf students.
The design focused on low-carbon energy systems, energy-efficient lighting, reduced water consumption, and minimised waste output.

SDS supported the redevelopment of an educational campus, delivering a new 2,160m² two-storey teaching academy and remodelling a 1,490m² facility to retain theatre and seminar spaces while converting the entrance to offices. A 150m² DT/FM building was upgraded for facilities management, and a three-storey accommodation block added 48 bedrooms in nine cluster flats with communal areas and parent ensuites.
The project also included site-wide infrastructure, such as roads, parking, pathways, landscaping, and associated works.
