The Grand Pier project, the result of a competition winning design, was a rebuild of the previous 1903 Grade II listed pier virtually destroyed by fire in 2008.

The Grand Pier project represents a landmark £50 million redevelopment, transforming the site following the destruction of the original 1903 Grade II listed pier by fire in 2008. The project included the design and construction of a new pavilion and comprehensive site redevelopment, incorporating modern facilities while respecting the pier’s heritage.

SDS was commissioned to provide specialist verification of the mechanical and electrical (M&E) services, ensuring that all designs met client and end-user requirements, complied with current legislation, standards, and building control regulations.
