Raising Awareness & Funds this Men’s Health Month

  • Businesswide

  • November 2025

Each November, Men’s Health Month highlights the importance of early awareness, open conversations and better support for men facing health challenges. This year, SDS chose to focus our efforts locally – supporting work that makes a direct difference in the communities where we live and work.

Supporting The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health

Instead of taking part in a national campaign, we partnered with The Chestnut Appeal, a South West charity raising awareness of prostate, testicular and penile cancers and providing support for men and their families across the region.

Through our Together360 programme, colleagues got involved in a series of activities throughout the month:

  • 11 Mo-growers putting down their razors for the month
  • Office bake sales across multiple locations
  • Our Go Blue Dress Down Day to close out the campaign

Thanks to the generosity of staff, clients and our wider networks, SDS raised a fantastic £1,528.

  • A Community Impact We’re Proud Of

Men’s Health Month at SDS reflects our Together360 focus on Wellbeing & Growth and Community Connection – supporting conversations around men’s health while contributing to meaningful, place-based impact across the South West.

A huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, grew a moustache or engaged with our updates. Your support has helped us make a real difference.

To mark the end of the campaign, Social Value Executive Kate Lowman and Mo-grower Sergio Moreira visited the Chestnut Unit at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth to present the funds and learn more about how they will be used.

The donation will support the charity’s new Survivorship Programme, launching next year, which will provide support packs to help men navigate life during and after treatment.
